I'm not a huge makeup buff, but I do like to branch out and try new things! I have normally been a Clinique girl, but last weekend I stopped by the MAC Counter and picked up two new things:

I'm obsessed with both! The Mascara is probably my favorite after using the Pink and Green Tube and Clinique. What kind of makeup do y'all use?

What Royar Read: Summer 2012

This summer I read a lot, I must say! Among my favorites were: Sorority Sisters, Glamour, Lone Survivor, and The Secret Life of Bees! To see all of my summer reading books, click here!

What did you read this summer?

State Of The Union

And no, I'm not talking about that State Of The Union. I'm talking about Royar's SOTU.

Every night before I go to bed, I make an abbreviated version of my schedule for the day: appointments, must do's, phone numbers, any miscellaneous items, and normally a thought or verse for the day. It's super handy to have around and to keep all my thoughts in one place. My trusty lavender moleskine also serves as official grocery list holder, budget keeper, diet record, books to read list, names to contact, blog to do list, senior year bucket list, and college checklist notebook.

The never ending target list...I've gotten my swimsuit and needed hairclips...still haven't reorganized my bathroom drawers!

Do you keep a notebook for spare thoughts?

Back To School!

Call me nerdy, but there's a small part of me that just loves starting school! I have a slight addiction to school supplies and being organized!

This is my official planner for Senior Year! I'm absolutely obsessed with the 'mingos and LP planners have been my go-to now for three years! There's enough room to write everything, plus stickers and a notes section!

I color code every subject, so I use these for everything in my planner! Between assignments, work, blogging, and college, I have a lot to keep organize, and it makes my planner super colorful and lively!

So, I'm super OCD about what binders I joke, I've used the same ones since seventh grade, natch, and these are literally lifesavers. They have plenty of space and last the whole year!

I used to be a diehard LL Bean-er from my little purple backpack in first grade, to my orange and blue backpack in fourth grade, to my pink backpack in ninth grade, but last year it gave out (I'm lookin at you, pre-calc book) sadly, so I picked this up on a whim and I'm obsessed!

And now it's back home from the monogrammers' all ready to go!

What school supplies do you turn to?

Senior Year!

Tomorrow is my last first day of school. I remember being in second grade, and thinking that surely, I would never make it to high school, let alone senior year. Taking the SAT or ACT? NEVER! (Sadly, I'm doing both in the next two months) But tomorrow, I will wake up, get ready, go to Starbucks with my Mom, and drive to school for the last first time. I'll park in the senior lot, go to my decorated locker through the back of my school, and sit in the front part during chapel. My first official day of 'Office Girl' errand running duties will commence, and I'll sit in the Senior Lounge during my study hall.

I've been at my school for nine years, and it's super weird that this year will be a year of lasts. My goals for this year include: not developing senioritis until at least March May, not taking any of my final exams, since seniors are exempt if you have a grade above a 90, getting great scores on all my APs, and being accepted to Georgia.

This year will definitely be lots of work, but lots of fun.

Happy (almost) School Year everyone!

Summer Recap!

Summer 2012, has been without a doubt, the best summer of my life. I'll always look fondly, with a hint of nostalgia, upon these past three months. It's safe to say I've grown exponentially as a person, both personally, professionally, and academically. I got super super tan, one of my main goals, took a ton of risks, reaped the rewards and repercussions, ran a lot, made some serious life decisions, applied to college, studied, shopped, drank a lot of diet coke, gave up Starbucks, stayed up late, woke up early, and got renewed, refreshed, and reacquired a sense of peace.

Ensley came to visit me!

My sweet CIT friend mCe

One of my swim class babies!

My Buzzard, a kind of secret santa at camp, and I!

One of my fave campers after I tied her bandana!

A trip to ATL,

and Tuscaloosa were fun!

A visit with the original Royar!

Many mornings with my toes in the sand

Posin' with Stonewall Jackson's Arm

And new and old friends at ISLC Georgetown...
My friend from Kenya!

SGG love!

Summer 2012, you were the ish. But I can't lie, Pumpkin Spice Lattes are calling my name.

Junior Year

I still can't believe that this time last year, I was preparing for my Junior Year of high school! It was such a fun year, although definitely filled with hard work. I know this is a little tardy, but better late than never, right?

Thankfully, my Junior year was also filled with...

numerous weekend getaways

lots of fun out with friends

a lovely trip to France

a life-changing trip to India

one brand new college graduate

My Junior Year was super memorable, but definitely not one I would not like to relive academically!

I'm so excited to start Senior year on Monday!
