What Royar's Reading

I could not put this down! The characters are so honest and the book just left me in awe.  Based lightly on To Kill A Mockingbird, which is one of my favorite books of all time.
The Mockingbirds

Slightly confusing, but fast-paced and engrossing.
The Time Traveler's Wife

Could be compared to The Guardian, with both having dogs and crazy ex-boyfriends, but opposite endings.  Kind of a weak plot line. {PS: Movie coming out in 2012 with Zac Efron as Logan!!}
The Lucky One

Typical Nicholas Sparks, but with added mystery.  Kept me focused until the end.
The Guardian

Started this in 8th grade, finally finished it.  Not a big page turner until the last chapter's plot twist. Well done, Nicholas Sparks.
At First Sight

Currently Reading: The Sun Also Rises

What are you currently reading?

Easter Recap!

On Thursday afternoon, PM and I set off for wonderful West Virginia!

Ensley and I had our annual Gabe's trip and also went to TJ Maxx which we both agreed was the nicest TJ Maxx we had both been in.  While in Gabe's we discovered the best of West Virginia, sunglasses for $4 each (hey, at least I won't worry if they get lost or break!) and a NY&Co. sundress for $10, as well as the worst, displays that included layered tshirts and jargos (jean-cargos, natch).
Our fashion sense was lost on our fellow West Virginians

We were greeted by lovely messages in the dressing rooms

On Saturday Ens and I saw Water for Elephants!
I can't stop thinking about it - it was so good! Robert Pattinson is a very good actor now that I've seen him outside of the Twilight series, those movies don't do him justice! I can't wait to read the book!

On Sunday, we went to church and had brunch at the club which was spectacular and we got to see many of our family friends before it was time to head home again!  It was a very relaxing long weekend! How were y'alls Easters?

Swimsuits!

A reader on tumblr asked me for my ideas on swimsuits!

Of course, you can't go wrong with Lilly Pulitzer!

{vBh and I'll be lookin' fly in our one pieces at camp!}

This J. Crew Seersucker is so classic for summer!

I also know Target always has adorable nautical as well as plain styles in great colors! Where do you get your swimsuits?

My Lilly Dresses

This was my first Lilly dress and got it in seventh grade!  I think it is an early version of the Del Mar Dress, but I am unsure of the print/style name

It was worn to PB's Graduation, a Wedding and I wore it while watch the final round of The Masters this year!

Easter

"After the Sabbath, at dawn on the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to look at the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel of the Lord came down from heaven and, going to the tomb, rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. The angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay. Then go quickly and tell his disciples: 'He has risen from the dead and is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him.' Now I have told you." So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples. Suddenly Jesus met them. "Greetings," he said. They came to him, clasped his feet and worshiped him. Then Jesus said to them, "Do not be afraid. Go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee; there they will see me."
Matthew 28:1-10

He is risen!

Cardigans

Cardigans are an essential part of my wardrobe, especially during the spring! They're perfect for chilly mornings when I don't need a jacket, but I still need something to get into school and my first class.  They're also a great way to spice up a plain dress or skirt!

Here are my two favorites:
So classic and timeless, plus they come in so many different colors!

I swear by these y'all! They last forever and are perfect to buy in fun colors and prints!

Where do you get your cardigans from?

Good Friday

"Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.
In you, O LORD, I take refuge;
let me never be put to shame.
In your justice rescue me.
Into your hands I commend my spirit;
you will redeem me, O LORD, O faithful God."
- Luke 23:46

"Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.'"
- John 11:25-26

Almost Heaven, West Virginia!

This afternoon, I'm cuttin' school a little early and heading off to West Virginia with PM! We'll be meeting PB and PF up there as well as Ensley!

Reunited and it feels so good!

I'm super excited to catch up with the Grandparent's, go to the Club for Easter brunch, hit up Gabe's with Ensley and just RELAX before I get into the homestretch for my tenth grade year.

Have a wonderful weekend y'all!

Yoga

One of my favorite things to do on the weekends is go to Yoga! It's a great way to exercise as well as relax and meditate.  I like to go on Saturday mornings as a way to unwind from the week and to get my weekend started off right!

I really want a monogrammed mat and these are too cute:

For yoga pants, some of my friends swear by Lululemon, but I love mine from Target!  I picked a pair up for play practice in January and went back the next week and bought another - they're so comfortable!

I also love these tanks - they're perfect for running, yoga and lacrosse!

Do you practice yoga? Namaste!

Here are my favorites:

Have y'all ever shopped at Fornash? What's your favorite piece?

My Lilly Dresses

Saturday, I popped into my favorite consignment shop to take a peek at their spring items!  While there I tried on a pair of Turquoise Jack Rogers that I wanted SO badly, but they were just a touch too small!  I also tried on some Lilly capris and a J. Crew skirt, but I ended up getting...

A new Lilly!  It's so adorable and the neckline has little beads around it!  I think I'll wear it for Easter!  This will also start the first of my blog posts about my Lilly dresses! Stay tuned for next week!

Miss Hildreth Wore Brown

Let it be known, I LOVE Southern Belle books! When Mrs. Byrd contacted me about reviewing this book, I jumped at the chance!

While Olivia deBelle Byrd was repeating one of her many Southern stories for the umpteenth time, her long-suffering husband looked at her with glazed over eyes and said,“Why don’t you write this stuff down?” Thus was born Miss Hildreth Wore Brown — Anecdotes of a Southern Belle. If the genesis for a book is to shut your wife up, I guess that’s as good as any. On top of that, Olivia’s mother had burdened her with one of those Southern middle names kids love to make fun. To see “deBelle” printed on the front of a book seemed vindication for all the childhood teasing. With storytelling written in the finest Southern tradition from the soap operas of Chandler Street in the quaint town of Gainesville, Georgia, to a country store on the Alabama state line, Oliviade Belle Byrd delves with wit and amusement into the world of the Deep South with all its unique idiosyncrasies and colloquialisms. The characters who dance across the pages range from Great-Aunt LottieMae, who is as “old-fashioned and opinionated as the day is long,” to Mrs. Brewton, who calls everyone “dahling” whether they are darling or not, to Isabella with her penchant for mint juleps and drama. Humorous anecdotes from a Christmas coffee, where one can converse with a lady who has Christmas trees with blinking lights dangling from her ears, to Sunday church, where a mink coat is mistaken for possum, will delight Southerners and baffle many a non-Southerner. There is the proverbial Southern beauty pageant, where even a six-month-old can win a tiara, to a funeral faux pas of the iron clad Southern rule—one never wears white after Labor Day and, dear gussy, most certainly not to a funeral. Miss Hildreth Wore Brown—Anecdotes of a Southern Belle is guaranteed to provide an afternoon of laugh-out-loud reading and hilarious enjoyment.

From the first page to the last, I laughed the whole time.  Her quick chapters and even quicker wit added to the hilarity of this book.  I could identify with many of her stories and I felt as though she was telling them to me herself as we sat on her front porch with a glass of sweet tea!

If you love good Southern reads, you MUST pick up a copy of this book!

Losing.

In the past two weeks, I have:
lost three elections (count 'em!)
gotten rejected from Mission Training - AGAIN
played 35 minutes in a total of 5 fifty-minute lacrosse games
gotten a fifty on two Chem worksheets
struggled with my daily crypto quip/crossword

Spring Arrivals - T-Shirts

Let it be known, I have a very unhealthy obsession with t-shirts.  I go weak at the knees for a good pocket tee.  Nifty design? Even better. I can't wait until sorority events for even more t-shirts!  Here are some of my favorite t-shirts for spring!

The Masters!

Happy Masters Week y'all!  The Masters is finally upon us again! I've been looking forward to this for the past month or so and can't believe it's finally here!

It's such a beautiful course and a very classy event - I will attend someday!  Even the website gets me a little teary, I just adore this event so much!  I can't link to any on here, but I would highly recommend watching some of the videos on the Official Masters Website, where you can also follow the players and rounds each day.

This year, vBh and I are officially sponsoring:

Adam Scott ("They might as well call him Adam HOT" - vBh)

And as always, I have to cheer on the family favorites...

If you haven't seen it, you must read about Crenshaw and his Caddie, Carl Jackson - so precious!
Read here and here

Will you be watching? Who will you be cheering on?
