Spring Arrivals - Lilly Pulitzer

Let me be honest, I am not that impressed with Lilly's spring line. Their dresses are cute, but not "$178 for a cotton shift" cute. I also feel that their prints have become less distinguishable in a crowd. Don't get me wrong, I still love Lilly Pulitzer dearly, but I feel that the brand as a whole has diminished over the past year.

I love the print, the dress in general...but what is UP with the neckline?

One of my favorite dresses.

Definitely purchasing a Franco dress this year, and I love this print.

Perfect school dress!

What do you think about the spring line?

Reunited & It Feels So Good

A few weeks ago, my twin hBe came to Virginia for a workshop and we got to have lunch before she went back to North Carolina! It was great to catch up with her since I haven't seen her since August!

Have a great Sunday!

Sunshine Gonna Wash My Blues Away

As I woke up this morning, I realized that I was not, as much as I would like to be, laying on a warm beach tanning. Instead, it was cold, rainy and just plain nasty today. Unfortunately, these days are the hardest because it feels like forever until spring will come out and warm up our days. So today, I sat in AP Euro and did my crosswords wrote my timed practice prompts, and wore this:
Yucky Winter Days
I was singing this to myself and desperately wishing I was wearing this:
Summer Lunch & Movie

Any of y'all have the winter blues? And most importantly, how many days til summer?

Bond, James Bond

In a few weeks, one of my best friends is having a James Bond/Casino themed party for her sweet 16! I love to dress up, so I've already begun my search for an outfit!

Right now, I've narrowed it down to three dresses, all by Milly.

One Year Ago...

I started my little blog! I never, never, never thought that it would become what it has! I've met so many wonderful people and gotten to do some pretty nifty things because of it. If you're interested in reading my first post, you can find it here. It's so funny to see how my writing style has changed and how I have changed in a year. I suppose that is one of the best parts about blogging - I'll never lose the diary I've kept over the past year and the one I keep here in the years to come. I also love the blogging community and how wonderful my readers are, all 140 of y'all. Y'all are the best! I'm working on a giveaway right now so stay tuned!

I'm So Much Cooler Online

After I eat dinner, I will get on my computer for the first time all day. Here are the websites I check:

1. CNN/Wall Street Journal  - CNN and the Wall Street Journal are my home tabs and I love catching up on news first!

2. Facebook - Kind of self-explanatory, but...
last night, I closed my Facebook. My best friend, vBh, has midterms and I have two major assignments due next week. So last night we swapped our passwords and changed them for each other.  It feels so great! I might even consider deactivating mine for awhile now. Immediately after we switched I just felt this whole weight lifted off of my shoulders. (Sounds weird, but don’t knock it ‘til you’ve tried it.) I think the best part about this is that I don’t even know my password until next week, so there is no temptation!

3. Gmail - I get my email on my Blackberry during the day, so it's much nicer to come home to one or two emails than the ten or so I get every day.

4. Google Reader - The star feature is the best (and worst, because I have 200+ items starred) part of google reader and since I have all of my tumblr feeds in it, I can read both my tumblr and my blogger posts in one place!

5. School email - Always have to stay on top of meetings and assignments!
What are your daily reads?

Put A Bow In It

Yes, I am officially six years old.

About a week ago, I ordered two bows from DixiePatches and they are fantastic!

I bought a large bow
and a giant bow!
I can't wait to wear them out and about!

Do you have any bows? How do you wear them?

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

"We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies."

War Cam Eagle

WAR EAGLE

Yes, I was cheering for Auburn last night.

I support Cam, I support the SEC and I support my South.

I was the only War Eagle in my AP Euro class yesterday, and my liberal teacher had Go Ducks written in HUGE letters on the board. Which led to me trying to explain to the entire class, who I'm sure most have never watched a true college football game in their lives, what War Eagle means.

Which led to The Music Snob (He's back!!) pretending that he actually knows something by quoting some of the Roll Tide commercial after I mentioned that War Eagle was similar to the phrase Roll Tide.  Listen buddy, it's a nationally televised commercial and easily accessible on YouTube. I'm not that proud of you, so don't get upset when I shoot you a look.

He also asked me today at play practice if my cousin's high school football shirt was from Alabama. We can only hope that one day he will learn.

In other news, I got Roses by Leila Meacham in the mail yesterday! I adore this book and can't wait to read it again! I bought it off half.com which sells books SUPER cheap! I get all of my textbooks from there!

Only 235 days until Alabama plays Kent State! Have a great day!

Back To The Grind

And it's back to school time, once again. It is so weird to think that I'm a second-semester sophomore and that in five months I'll be half-way through high school. I've got a lot to look forward to this semester: performing in a musical, starting lacrosse again, college meetings, interviews and hopefully visiting PB a few times. On another note, I got a my Southern Tide Long Sleeve T-Shirt yesterday!

To say I am obsessed with it is an understatement! I will definitely be purchasing more in the future!

Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

What are your New Year's Resolutions? Mine are:

1. Start running again.

2. Stop worrying about things that are out of my control.

3. Focus on just school right now, less on the college search.

4. Read more books.

5. Appreciate each moment.

On another note,

Today the Alabama Crimson Tide will take on the Michigan State Spartans in the Capital One Bowl.

ROLL TIDE ROLL. Beat Michigan State!
