What Royar Read: March

I didn't get to read as much as I wanted to in March, but I still read some awesome books!

I Am Charlotte Simmons - Loved this book! Definitely a very long read (it's 750 pages!) but worth it. Quite predictable at times.

If You Have To Cry, Go Outside - What a great woman, and a great story. There are some awesome tips in this book.

Eighteen Acres - Light read, extremely political, but a fresh storyline.

The Great Gatsby - So, so, so in love with this book. Words can't describe how I feel about this one.

The Most Beautiful Walk In The World - Not as great as I thought it would be.

What have you read lately?

France: Part Two

Thursday morning, we went to school with our correspondents and went to some English classes.

One awkward answer that I had, yes, indeed been speaking English for 17 years, one isolated incident of walking into a classroom of confused preschoolers while looking for the stairs, and one trip down the stairs later, all happening to me, natch, we finally left school and were off to Boulevard Haussman.

We went to La Musee Jacquemart-Andre and then walked around the district a bit!

Later that afternoon, two of my closest friends, sPo and kFe and I jumped on the metro and rode to the Champs Elysees!

Of course a visit to Laduree (the first of many for me!) was in order!

On Friday, we went to the Louvre!

vCs and I!

One of my favorite paintings!

The Mona Lisa!

Another favorite of mine!

I absolutely adored the Louvre, but I would say allow ample time to visit! We had about two and a half hours and we only made it through part of the first floor!

Happy Monday!

France: Part One

Now that I'm finally getting back into the swing of school and back on Eastern Time, I can finally start recapping my fabulous trip to France!

We flew into Charles De Gaulle, arriving at 7:35 France Time, boarded a bus, and drove to Normandy! Our main visit on Monday was the Mont St. Michel, a commune and monastery.

On the second day, we visited a cheese farm, winery, and the World War Two Museum of Caen.
Half of our group before visiting the baby cows!

At the Vineyard, we met Hugo and Scott!

And I got to play with some donkeys!

The Museum was fascinating, even more so because there was nearly no mention of the United States.

On Wednesday, we visited Pont du Hoc, Omaha Beach, and the American Cemetery. Sadly my camera died about halfway through Pont Du Hoc, but my friend kFe took many pictures for me!
The visit to the beaches was extremely moving.
They have now opened up a few bunkers at Pont Du Hoc, and stepping foot in them was unreal.
My visit to the beaches and cemetery, especially, was wonderful, and one I will never forget.

Up next, I finally make it to Paris!

Happy Spring!

Happy First Day of Spring y'all!

Spring has definitely sprung here in Virginia! I was pleasantly surprised to find that my daffodils were in bloom and my rose bushes we're showing signs of budding!

I am so excited to watch the Masters in just TWO WEEKS and whip out the white jeans after Easter. As much as I would love to follow the Memorial Day rule, I still want to wear mine to school! I'm very excited to start wearing my Jacks full time again!

My Parisian recounts begin tomorrow and I'm so excited to share all of my stories with y'all!
