College Thursday: Bedding

Originally, I was going to have my bedding be custom made and perfectly matched to my room. Then after talking to Sarah, since she lived in the dorm I'll be living in her freshman year as well, she made an excellent point: this is probably the first and last time I'll be using a twin bed, so why spend a ton of money on sheets etc that are going to be relegated to the guest room at my house by next June?

So now I'm thinking a simple color duvet, colored sheets, which I have right now and LOVE, with accent pillows. But maybe not. There are a plethora options available.

Dorm Suite Dorm has a customizable option for everything. I don't know if I'm going to to go down this road, but it's still an option.

For the super spirited Alabama, UGA, or Auburn girl you can get school sets from Decor 2 Ur Door.

I really like these sheets from PB Teen

And I love this duvet!

I'll do white pillowcases with my monogram like I have now, most likely from LL Bean, since they do a fantastic job with monogramming, and their quality is excellent.

What did you do for your dorm bedding?

Tradesy

So as part of the great Spring Break of 2013, I have been cleaning out my closet and putting aside the clothes that I didn't wear a lot or didn't wear once during winter. I would normally consign them, but that means waiting until July, and I'm listing two coats, so they probably wouldn't sell as well. eBay is really overwhelming for me, so I turned to Tradesy.

It's basically an online consignment shop but even better? It's free, it's simple, and they literally take care of everything for you - even cleaning up your photos!

I'm excited to see how my items sell, and I'll also be listing them on Poshmark!

Do you list your clothes online?

The Perfect Shorts

So it might be 36 degrees here in Virginia today, but since it's technically March, I am literally counting down the days until I can slip back into my favorite shorts!

I have a really hard time finding cute shorts to wear since 3" is a little too short for me and 5" can feel like bermuda shorts, but J. Crew's 4" is just right.

And the colors are too! I really want to add the royal blue and red to my collection this year, and especially the red to wear with my college tshirt!

Where are your favorite shorts from?

March Goals

1. Read. A lot. I feel like I always have my nose in a book, but I need to spend less time on Facebook and more time learning about the world.

2. Get into a workout routine. I'm good with my spin/run/swim cycle, but I'm really bad about going to the actual gym with like, you know, weights and stuff. I need to get over my silly fear/intimidation and just go.

3. Wake up earlier. I am so bad about waking up at 7:30 and throwing on an outfit, brushing my teeth/washing my face and literally running out the door without breakfast or makeup or anything. This is a sign of senioritis if I ever saw one, but I feel so much better when I get up earlier, and it's a habit I would like to make.

4. Clean out my closet. Like really clean it out and separate clothes to consign next winter that I didn't wear at all this season.

5. Get ready for my APs! If all goes well I'll have about a semester of credit when I go to Alabama next year so that's a huge motivator for me! I'm taking English Lang, English Lit, American Government, Comparative Government, and Psychology. Fellow high schoolers, what are y'all taking?

6. Save money. I can spend money like it's going out of style. My next big purchase will be a new pair of ray-bans since mine are totaled, but other than that, I want to start transfering a certain amount of each paycheck to savings, no questions asked.

Happy Saturday y'all!

Friday Five

1. As of 2:35 today I'm on Spring Break. What exciting plans do I have scheduled? Nada. On my docket for next week: writing a scholarship essay, making a big girl budget, studying for AP exams, napping, netflixing, going to the gym and drinking Starbucks. At the risk of sounding nerdy and antisocial I'm actually really excited. This spring is going to be dunzo in a flash and I want to be as prepared as possible!

2. I thought I was lucky and made it out of January/February unscathed by the cold that has been going around my school, until I got home on Tuesday and woke up feeling like I'd been hit with a Mac truck.

3. Being sick + missing school = feeling really disorganized and like things are out of my control. Worst feeling ever.

4. One of my assignments due today involved lots and lots of coloring. Thank you senior year.

5. I am a person who is really easily amused, so watching goats baah like humans entertained me for a solid 20 minutes last night. You're welcome

Happy Friday!
