Oh, How Pinteresting!

Today, I'm culling from my Home and Design board and focusing on my dream kitchen!

I simply adore this butchers block counter and it would look perfect with white cabinets!

So cute to let your dogs stay in the kitchen but not get in the way!

I love the color scheme and the lanterns are perfection!

I must have a stove like this!

I love all of the colorful cookbooks!

Such a gorgeous kitchen - I love the island in the middle!

I think the white cabinets and brown countertops is a perfect look! The backsplash is stunning!

DIY Holiday Link Up!

Today, I'm linking up with Hopsy for a DIY Holiday Gift! While I don't have a specific thing to make per say, I did visit Hobby Lobby for the first time last weekend! Y'all. To say that I was obsessed with HL is an understatement - my Mama had to about drag me out of the store! This weekend almost everything Christmas themed was 50% off and I got so much adorable stuff, as well as looked for things to plan out some more Pinterest crafts!

How cute is this little board?

I got it thinking I would style after this and it would be perfect to hang on my bedroom door!

I also picked this up at a bargain store on Friday to repaint and restore - it was too cute not to pass up!

I think that between these two projects and making some ornaments for friends I'll be very busy crafting in the next few weeks!

Miranda Lambert

This past weekend, while Ensley and I were partaking in our own Black Friday festivities, she insisted that I listen to Miranda Lambert's new album, Four The Record.

I'll admit, I was skeptical.  I loved Heart Like Mine and Only Prettier, but I had never really listened to anything else by her.  Well, I owe Ensley a lot.

I'm obsessed y'all. My two favorites? All Kinds Of Kinds & Mama's Broken Heart

And don't even get me started on Pistol Annies. If you haven't heard Boys From The South, your ears will thank you 3 minutes and 39 seconds from now.  My new favorite however is Hell On Heels.

What I'm Thankful For

Today, I'm thankful for all of the opportunities I have been given.

I go to one of the best secondary schools in the country,
I will travel to Paris in March for two weeks to live as Parisian,
I have climbed the Great Wall of China, 
I was chosen to be a Counselor In Training for four weeks last summer,
I've been Captain of a team,
I have traveled to China,
I have given a speech to over 300 people, and I'll get the opportunity to do it again next year,
and today, I'm very happy to announce a new opportunity I have been given.

Friday night, I received an email congratulating me on my acceptance to the Winter Mission Training Workshop for Operation Smile.

I still can't believe it, and I am thankful that my prayers have truly been answered on this one.  I have been waiting since last year when I sent in my first application.  I have been denied twice and as they say, third time's the charm. It was hard to put my faith in God and to know that I would go when the time was right, and it was hard to wait and to fail, but I am thankful for the lessons this has taught me.

I have learned a lot about failure, patience and faith in the past two years and those lessons have made me a stronger and better person, and that, I couldn't be more thankful for.

Friday, Friday Gotta Get Down On Friday

That's all I have today y'all. This week has been rough to say the least. I'm going to pray for no quiz in U.S. History, turn in my abstract for Alternate History, turn in my poem for English, let out a whoop if I make it to at 2:35 today, click my heels on the way out of school, and work on my namaste a bit at yoga and let go of this week. Because next week I have two and a half days of school and it's THANKSGIVING!

Enjoy some Luke Bryan eye-candy in honor of it being Friday. I'm obsessed with this song more than I care to admit.

Hey, It's Ok

Today I'm linking up for the first time with Amber for It's Ok Thursdays!

It's Ok.. be overly excited about Ladies Night Out at your local Nursery because you can't wait to see their Christmas Decorations be going to said Ladies Night Out with your Mother and her friends be completely fine with that not understand anything about your Alternate History project that's due in two weeks be super excited about Thanksgiving just because you're guaranteed to not to see anyone except family for six days be rocking out to Christmas music and music you listened to during the summer at the same time spend more time on your U.S. History notes than your hair #junioryearprobz slide into your 8:15 class at 8:14 and 55 seconds utilize scarves and headbands as much as possible, just because want it to be cold because all of your summer clothes are packed away and you're too lazy to get them out take advantage of the seventy-five degree weather and to obnoxiously sing "Fishin In The Dark" as you zip home from school

Oh, How Pinteresting & A Winner!

 I went to Michael's last week, quite a dangerous feat for me, and wandered around looking at their acrylic paints and such because I really want to make a few of these next items my weekend projects!

For some reason the embedding won't work but all of these pictures are in my "Getting Crafty" board on Pinterest!

I have always admired these in various boutiques and I can't wait to see how mine turns out!

I am always counting down the days to something and this would be the perfect reminder!

I love this! I would totes do it in Texas state colors!

There are variations of these two quotes and I can't wait to test these!

This is just too adorable not to try and you can just change the city!

This would be super cute for a guest bedroom!

I also LOVE Katie's DIY Nautical Flags and I am definitely going to be trying that as well!

A few weeks ago, my school had it's Homecoming weekend!

Although we may have lost to a really good team, who were really unapologetic about it, the game was still super fun and it was a beautiful afternoon! The dance might have not been the best night of my life, but a bunch of my friends and I got together before and we had a fantastic time if I do say so myself.

But, the best part of the whole weekend is that I got to spend it with my french exchange student!

She was here for two weeks and we had so much fun together! I get to go to Paris for two weeks in March and I absolutely can't wait!

All in all, it was a wonderful weekend and most importantly, a good excuse to dress up!
