What I'm Thankful For

I got this idea from Queen Bee Swain, if you're not following her, you're missing out on a wonderful blogger!

Today, I'm thankful for my health and for being alive.

I've been pretty sick for the past two weeks and it's hard when you're not feeling well, just like in the dead of winter what it's like to feel the heat of the sun on your face, to remember what feeling normal is like. So Friday night, I finally felt better and I went to hot yoga. It really re-centered me after these past six weeks. There have been so many ups and downs that sometimes I forget that I need to find a middle ground.  Afterwards, I came home and powerwalked with my Mother and her friend. Yesterday, I went to the beach and ran four miles, which hurt a lot, but it reminded me so much that I'm alive; that I need to start to appreciate every morning when I put two feet on the ground.

It's funny how when you cannot do something that you realize how much you miss it.

What are you thankful for this week?

Southern Ties

I don't know if y'all have heard of Southern Ties before, but you must check them out!

Late one night, two friends came up with a goal to create a company that promises to incorporate the ideas of Southern, Style, and Tradition into every product so that gentleman and belles alike can benefit from the great pride and heritage of the South. James P. Adams and Samuel C. Thomas, III are pleased to introduce you to Southern Ties, a brand that strives to let everyone have a piece of the South.

Now, their ties are precious and perfect for our beaus, but they are now offering shirts for the ladies!

Y'all. I can't get over how adorable these shirts are!
How appropriate is this for us Southern Belles? It's all too true!

I'll be ordering one faster than you can say bow tie!

Have a fabulous Thursday y'all!

What I'm Thankful For

I got this idea from Queen Bee Swain, if you're not following her, you're missing out on a wonderful blogger!

Today, I'm thankful for America and for being an American.

Sometimes, it's hard for me to remember that there are other people out in the world that do not have the same rights as I do. I go to school everyday, a right denied to many girls my age in other parts of the planet, walk around my city without fear of being persecuted for the color of my skin, my religion or what political party I agree with.  I can actively debate my teacher and classmates in each of my classes, without fear of the repercussions.  I can agree or disagree with the things our government does freely, along with my fellow Americans.  I am thankful for the men and women who serve in our military, I am no where near as brave as them.  And yes, my friends do make fun of me for getting a little weepy when I see the American flag waving slowly in the breeze, or when they have the Bald Eagle fly out at sports events, but what can I say?

I'm just thankful.

And of course, I do love saying if my friend asks to meet for coffee on the weekends,
Of course I'm free, I'm an American.

What are you thankful for this year?

What Royar Read: October

I really had to push myself through this one and the ending wasn't that great.

So good! Perfect intro to SATC

Had to read this for English. Woof.

I didn't like it at first, but the ending was really good!

Dear lord. Just no. I can't even on this one. Nothing like a forced reading for Alternate History class.

What have you recently read?

Oh, How Pinteresting!

I'm going to start linking up for Oh, How Pinteresting Wednesdays! I'm obsessed with Pinterest - it's something that I wish I had invented! I used to have a huge 'inspiration' folder on my desktop and never knew what exactly to do or how to perfectly categorize them and now my need for organization can calm down!

Just a preface, it took me forty-five minutes to write this post, I kept getting distracted!

I have seen so many DIY crafts that I've been inspired to decorate my room and bathroom a bit more and try my hand at crafting!

I love this idea! It would even look cute with pinecones and glitter for the holidays!

I am totally going to do this in my room and bathroom sometime soon! It could also work with mason jars!

I'm going to have to go antiquing soon to find a frame like this so I can make my own pinboard!

Do you Pinterest? Let me know so I can follow you!
