Work It Out: Lululemon

Now that I don't really play sports anymore, I don't really have a need for nike shorts (insert tears here) except to run in. I now go to spin at a Soul Cycle-esque place and do Pure Barre four times a week each, so I've definitely created a need for leggings more so than shorts.

Enter Lululemon.

I've blogged about my love of my wunder unders before and I bought myself a second pair for graduation. They're seriously the best things ever, and yes pricey, but my pair that I bought in January and wear on a weekly basis look the exact same as my new pair.

They're also super comfy for running around town in! I'll wear mine with my jacks and a tshirt to lunch and they also look great with tennis shoes!

Even though I'm technically on a workout clothing buying freeze, the run inspire crop ii's are definitely going to be my next purchase so I can run around in them during the winter!

Lululemon also has really cute tops, but I've found Target has very similar ones for a fraction of the price.

Are you a Lulu fan?

The One That Got Away

While searching for white dresses to wear to a grad party of mine next week, I stumbled across this beauty from Anthro.

How gorgeous is this? Sadly they're sold out of almost every size, so I guess this is the one that got away!

Just Madras

Last weekend, I hosted a trunk show for Just Madras at my school's field day!

Thursday night I came home from spin class to some very nice packages on my front porch!

I spent Friday afternoon setting up,

and had a little creative block for displaying some ties, and ended up polishing silver at midnight Friday night!

I had SO much fun selling all day on Saturday!

I wore the Skipper Dress all day and I absolutely loved it - perfect dress for summer and grad parties!

J. Crew

Last weekend, I popped into J. Crew to try on a few things. While I only left with a new silk tank, I definitely have some things in mind to purchase in the next few weeks!

Ponte Swing Dress | Such a good fit and I love the color!

Liberty Stamp Mini | I didn't realize it came in a skirt pattern until I got home, and I love it more as a bottom than as a top!

Scattered Dot Shift Dress | Probably the only polka dots I would ever wear. Possible interview dress!

Scalloped Dress | Perfection in a dress. No words.

What are you loving a J. Crew this spring?

Work It Out: Clothing

I'm quite particular about my workout clothing, because I don't really buy a lot of it, and I want it to last. Comfort is also a huge factor, and I'm definitely not the girl at the gym who has the perfectly coordinated outfit.

So, without further ado,

Running Tops:: I'm really bad and wear regular tshirts/tank tops, but I also like Nike Shirts.

Sports Bras:: C9 from Target. I swear by them.

Running Shorts:: Norts

Socks:: I get Nike Calf socks as well as Asics socks from my running store.

Running Shoes::
Right now I'm running in the Brooks Ghost 5 and I love them. They're amazing. However, since I'm out of the stage of playing competitive sports and will just be using them for the gym and occasional run outside, I'm also looking at Nike Free's.

Leggings:: Lululemon Wunder Under. They are my new Tempo's.

Workout Tops:: I have some from Nike and a few from Target. You can't go wrong with a racerback and a cute color.

Where do you get your workout clothes?

So the other day I checked out Kate Spade's new arrivals. Bad move on my part.

Tradesy

So as part of the great Spring Break of 2013, I have been cleaning out my closet and putting aside the clothes that I didn't wear a lot or didn't wear once during winter. I would normally consign them, but that means waiting until July, and I'm listing two coats, so they probably wouldn't sell as well. eBay is really overwhelming for me, so I turned to Tradesy.

It's basically an online consignment shop but even better? It's free, it's simple, and they literally take care of everything for you - even cleaning up your photos!

I'm excited to see how my items sell, and I'll also be listing them on Poshmark

Do you list your clothes online?

Lilly Pulitzer New Arrivals

Harwin Dress. I really wanted this as a graduation dress but the slit doesn't really scream 3pm day wear. Le sigh.

What were your favorites from the new line? I'm so ready for spring to get here!

Just Madras

The other day, I was on the Just Madras website, and I wanted to show off their holiday silks! I am a brand ambassador for them, and am currently planning a trunk show for the spring!

I love their bow tie/cummerbund sets! They would be perfect for a black tie holiday gala!

Their bow ties are perfect for boyfriends, brothers, and dads!

This tunic would be perfect with a pair of black skinnies and TB flats!

Their cosmetic bags are perfect for holiday traveling, and it can even be monogrammed!

If you and your beau want to match for a holiday fête, this clutch would be lovely!

Lilly P: Resort 2013

There were a select few things that I truly liked for Resort 2013. The prints are great, but the items, not so much.

Look, Lilly. I love you, but I'm just not going to wear a jumpsuit. Just give me some shifts, and let's call it a day.

But things that are still good?

There will never be a time in my life when I don't love my Elsa's. They are the best.

Pool coverup by day, cocktail attire by night.

I may or may not be going down to the store tomorrow just to try these beauties on. Perf.

Absolutely love the print and the cut is darling!

What are your favorite Lilly items this season?

My thoughts on the day...

Dogwood Black

Remember that one time I posted about Southern Ties? (Almost exactly a year ago!) Well now they've rebranded, and I am oh so excited to share with y'all about it!

"In physicality, the American South exists below the Mason-Dixon line; in mentality, the South resides in the head and the heart. This philosophy led to Southern Ties changing its operational name to Dogwood Black. The Dogwood is the state flower and tree of Virginia, the birthplace of our company. There is a saying here in Virginia: “Virginia is for lovers.” And if you love the South, you will love Dogwood Black. We aim to pay homage to both the Southern tradition and Southern ideology. Dogwood Black signifies that the South is still, and will continue to be, very much alive and kickin’."

The South is a state of mind. Not a state of mine. Dogwood Black.

Here are my picks:
You can build your own shirt on their website! How nifty is that? Words can't even do it justice...just go play around with it for yourself!

Swoon.

Obsessed.

And the best part of all? Everything is made in the Great U.S. of A. No joke. It's even printed on the tag of the shirt

Go check out dWb and tell 'em I sent you!

Hurricane Sandy Goes to School

After a very relaxing day off, we are on a two hour delay this morning! I'm ambivalent about having no school/delayed school as I have Friday off already.

But seeing as the temperature has dropped exponentially and it's very windy and rainy, I will be bundling up for a blizzard tomorrow!

Cheers to Bean Boot Tuesday!

Consignment Finds

Last week, I popped into my favorite consignment shop just to poke around and see if they had anything new.  As soon as I stepped in, I just knew it was going to be one of 'those' days where I got tons of finds! After trying on a beautiful Lilly dress, Rachel Pally wrap, I got...

A grey-green Ann Taylor Loft skirt...

and....
a new Patagonia fleece!

The Patagonia might be the find of the century, as it is like new, and had just come in the day before!

They were $20 apiece, but the best part is, I got them for free since I consign with them regularly and almost all of my last batch had sold! I can't wait to wear both and love that my never worn clothes have found new homes!

Do you ever consignment shop?

Work It Out: Skirtin' Around

When your norts collection resembles something like this....
this is not my picture, but my collection is comparable.

you start to look for other options. And then you stumble on to the beauty that is,
the Lululemon running skirt.

Y'all. I'm obsessed with this. It's pink. It's striped. It has ruffles.

Need I say more?

Rainy Saturday OOTD

Rainy Saturday!

Today I'm off at 5:30 (that's A.M.!) to volunteer at a mud run that I'm unfortunately unable to run in due to a joint problem in my hip and my foot! Definitely not the way I wanted to start off my senior year of Cross-Country, as I can't run until my appointment on Tuesday! I'm still very excited to help out as it's for a great cause and to cheer on my friends running!

Hopefully it will stay dry, but I'll be packing my Bean boots and rain coat just in case!

In other news, my little old corner of the world is on the map once again (yeah, remember that one time a plane crashed less than a mile away from me?) because Mitt Romney will be here tomorrow to announce his Veep! I'm super sad I won't be able to be there, but I'll be checking with friends there and on twitter!

Happy Saturday lovelies, and don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY!
