What Royar Read: February

note: I just realized that I've basically read all trashy chick lit books this month. This month has not been fun. Bear with me.

The Fault In Our Stars - Heartbreakingly fantastic. I love John Green, and he did not disappoint with this book.

I Love A Man In Uniform - Fantastic book, although I thought the ending was quite abrupt.

Catching Jordan - Semi-unrealistic plot line and it just turned out oddly, although most of it was predictable.

Smashed - One of the most depressing books I've ever read. It took a lot to push through the middle of the book and the ending wasn't memorable.

The Summer of Skinny Dipping - Might be one of the worst books I've ever read. So predictable it hurt.

Secret Society Girl - Hard to follow at times and the story blended together a lot, but it was still good.

One Fifth Avenue - This is for the Cover To Cover Book Club! I read it last summer, but I thought it was great! A little slow at the start, but the ending was fantastic.

What have you read lately?

Needlepoint!

Since Pinterest has brought out the crafty side of me, I have decided to embark upon a new project:

needlepointing!

I have found some sellers on etsy, such as Stina Stitches. Her kits are perfection!

I can't wait to try this cheetah headband!

Hopefully one day I'll be able to work myself up to one of these...

But my first project for sure?
Texas Flag + Monogram = Don't even act like you didn't see that coming.

Do you needlepoint? Any pointers?

This & That

My life is all over the place, therefore my post today is all over the place. Great? Great.

1. Please tell me I'm not the only person in the world who is incredibly amused by The Bachelor this season. Please enjoy my screenshots courtesy of Hulu.

Courtney is crazy pyschopathic weird annoying interesting.

Like what are you doing with your life Court?

Besides petting tarantulas and pretending to kill people?

Ben is just not that great. He's kinda vanilla, and the one thing he has going for him, the whole winery-sonoma-thing? It's gone by the wayside.

I hope he ends up with Courtney.

2. While at the gym Wednesday night, kicking off Lent in style, reading Glamour and staring at myself watching the CNN Republican Debate, with my hot hot hot Navy BFFs, nbd, I realized that in every question posed to Newt, he gives a perplexed face for a few seconds and then begins to answer. I don't honestly know why I find this hilarious, but I do. Political girl problems?

3. Yesterday, I wore my jean jacket for the first time since October and went sans pea coat as it was seventy five degrees! The first day or two when Spring shows is always so wonderful.

4. It was all fine and dandy, however, until my car nearly died on the interstate but thankfully I was able to get to a Walgreens to call AAA. Quick PSA: Become a member of AAA or something akin to their services. Seriously a lifesaver. Sadly my car is now in the shop...and it might be on it's last leg, which is making me more sad than it should. I mean, it's from 1998! But as PM and I strolled around the parking lot looking at new cars, it honestly made me a little sad. I'm praying that it's just a quick fix and I'll be back with my car in no time!

5. Act of Valor Tonight. I haven't been this excited for a movie in a long time.

6. Spring Break/Paris in one week. I still can't believe it.

Happy Friday y'all!

Anne M. Cramer

I have known Anne M. Cramer for awhile from her iconic striped skirts,

but after checking out her new Spring/Summer collection via Matchbook, I am in love.

Seriously, how precious is this ad campaign? It must have been so fun to make!

It's seventy degrees here today, so I'm pulling out the jean jacket and dusting off a shift or two in preparation for a dash of spring!

Slow Down, You Crazy Child

Today, I am so grateful that I have no school. For the past six weeks I feel like the hamster on the wheel running from school to volunteering to pretending that I'm actually ever going to go to the gym to yoga to concerts to lunch with friends to catchup dinners with my parents to weekday trips to visit the brother to impromptu facebook chats that turn into three hour heart to hearts to stressing over SAT scores to trying to remember to breathe in an out.

Yes, if I had had school today, would I have gotten up and gone on with my day? Yes.
Would it have been easy? No.

After a whirlwind weekend with Ensley in which we: saw The Vow, spoke with a woman who was toting a stunning purple Birkin, got Ens an iPhone, brunched, lunched and drove around a lot, I'm thankful that I can stay in yoga pants and my fisherman sweater that I've become quite attached to all. day. long.

For once in my life, there is n-o-t-h-i-n-g written on my planner or State of the Union for today.

Can I get a Thank God Hallelujah?

Napping, writing my outline for my history thesis, watching Gossip Girl, curling up with coffee and reading Gatsby, crafting, and a charity meeting are on the personal agenda pour moi. Today will be a wonderful, much needed mental health day.

Also, two weeks from today I will be landing in France, and two months from yesterday I'll be in India!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Guest Post: Moroccan Design

Hi there! I'm Jessica and every day I get to write about interior design for Arcadian Lighting, an awesome website for affordable light fixtures. Thank you so much to Royar for having me as her guest today because I'm going to be sharing some very beautiful interiors that are decorating with the vibrant colors and patterns of Moroccan textiles. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

This relaxing guest bedroom has a beautiful collection of Moroccan fabrics very tastefully displayed. The intricate details and bright colors really liven up an otherwise plain white room.

A chic Moroccan bedroom demonstrates the beauty of all-white d├ęcor. The beading and patterns on the bedding mimic the very ornate antique mirror exquisitely.

Every corner of this bedroom is bursting with color and stunning Moroccan patterns. The unique ceiling light and painted ceiling is a gorgeous focal point.

This contemporary interpretation of Moroccan interiors shows off a faded color palette that is still quite alluring. I love the peach colored headboard.

Beautiful Moroccan pillows adorn this already luxurious and colorful bed. The collection of mirrors is a creative way to make your own wall art.

The tilework in this bedroom is so stunning, it's easy to see why the only piece of furniture is a simple bed. There's no reason to detract from such beautiful colors and patterns.

The heavy rug and Moroccan floor pillows give this modern living room a more bohemian vibe. The glittering pendant lights add an a lovely sparkle.

The beautiful rich orange and gold color palette in this living room is sizzling. The gorgeously upholstered armchairs contrast wonderfully against the matte walls. Images 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8   What do you think of Moroccan textiles and patterns? Let us know if the comments! And be sure to stop by Arcadian Lighting for some more colorful inspirations and brilliant light fixtures.

Thanks Jessica!

Hey, It's Ok

Today I'm linking up with Amber for It's Ok Thursdays!

It's Ok..

...to clear my schedule for the afternoon, come home and take a four hour nap

...to realize that you've bitten off more than you can chew

...and realize that there's still a light at the end of the tunnel

...to count the number of Monday's left in the school year

...it's 11, but even less considering I'll be missing many a Monday on my trips, brother's graduation etc

...to be completely obsessed with Dance Moms

...and be counting down the days until Act of Valor comes out

...to wish everyday was Pinteresting Wednesday

...to have your Friday ruined by the fact that it's Tuesday

What are you saying "it's okay" to this Thursday?
